The latest SDS webinar dissected net-zero and Michael Gove’s levelling-up policy

Earlier this month, housing-software specialist SDS held its latest webinar, looking at net-zero and the challenges involved in creating a zero-carbon sector.

Wales and West’s Marcus Blayney, one of the four main speakers, explained how the organisation is improving the quality and standard of homes with new experimental tenures and technologies.

Elsewhere in the discussion, Phil Shelton explained why ProVal will support the modelling of carbon emissions and “taking a data approach in an automated way”.

The webinar also looked at why the recent Queen’s Speech is “deeply concerning”, and why Michael Gove’s levelling-up policy “is going to cripple RPs” instead of enabling them.

“You are not giving the right people the resources to deliver the outcomes, in my opinion, Michael Gove,” said Duncan Smith, from WHG, one of the speakers.

Speakers:

  • Marcus Blayney, Planning, Strategy, and Improvement manager, Wales and West Housing
  • Duncan Smith, Commercial Director, WHG
  • Phil Shelton, CEO, SDS
  • Andrew Markham, director of Consultancy, SDS

The session was chaired by Christopher Wandel, New Business Manager at SDS.
