Orbit has been helping to keep students at Soham Village College safe during their community litter picks, by donating high vis vests.
Soham students clean up local community with help from Orbit Homes

The after-school group at the college volunteers to undertake a monthly litter pick, to help keep the local community tidy.

Soham Village College is located less than a mile from Felix Park, a development by affordable housebuilder Orbit Homes.

Sarah Price, Regional Marketing Manager at Orbit Homes, said: “As a not-for-profit organisation, we are committed to making a positive impact on local communities. It’s great to see the students give up their spare time and come together to make such a valuable contribution to society. The high-vis vests are a small donation to help the students stay safe on busy roads, whilst doing their bit to keep their neighbourhood litter-free.”

Lucy Alda, Student Services Manager at Soham Village College, added: “We are very proud to be working with Orbit Homes. Our afterschool club called CATS are passionate about helping the local community in any way we can. One idea was to fundraise for high vis vests and get out into the community to make a positive difference by tidying up the local area. Orbit Homes have kindly donated our wonderful high vis so we can be safe whilst litter picking and be a visible presence when out and about. We are very grateful for their support of our cause.”

Felix Park is an Orbit Homes development offering 108 two, three and four-bedroom homes available for Market Sale, 20 two, three and four-bedroom homes available with Shared Ownership, 21 houses for Affordable Rent and eight self-build plots.

There are currently a range of Market Sale two-bedroom homes from £258,000, three-bedroom homes from £275,000 and four-bedroom homes from £370,000.

Felix Park launched in January 2022 and is expected to complete in March 2025.

Orbit Homes currently has nine thriving new communities underway in East Anglia, comprising a range of affordable two-, three- and four-bedroom homes, including some rarely available new build bungalows. A mixture of purchasing options is available, including market sale and shared ownership.
