South West Housing Associations Secure Backing to Deliver Thousands of Affordable Homes

Homes for the South West (H4SW), the leading voice for affordable housing in the South West, has welcomed today’s announcement from Homes England confirming that five H4SW members have been selected as Strategic Partners under the Social and Affordable Homes Programme 2026-2036.

The successful organisations include:
• Magna Housing
• Plymouth Community Homes
• Abri Group
• Bromford Flagship LiveWest
• Stonewater

Together, these organisations will help deliver thousands of affordable homes across the South West, supported through long-term Government investment.

Jonathan Cowie, co-chair of Homes for the South West, said:

“This announcement demonstrates both the scale of housing need in the South West and the confidence Homes England has in housing associations across our region to deliver more homes.

“We welcome this investment and thank Homes England for its support, which will enable the delivery of much-needed affordable homes, create opportunities for local communities and contribute to regional growth over the coming decade.

“The selection of South West members as Strategic Partners reflects the strength, experience and ambition of housing associations across our region. With long-term investment and funding certainty, we can work with Homes England and local partners to accelerate the delivery of affordable homes and ensure more people have access to safe, secure housing in the communities they call home.”

Selina White, co-chair of Homes for the South West, said:

“The Social and Affordable Homes Programme presents a significant opportunity to accelerate the delivery of affordable housing across the South West and ensure our region plays its full role in meeting the country’s housing ambitions.

“Affordable housing is not just about providing homes. It is fundamental to supporting economic growth, enabling workforce mobility and ensuring people can continue to live and work in the communities they call home. For many parts of the South West, from rural and coastal communities to our growing towns and cities, that challenge has never been more pressing.

“Homes for the South West’s members have the scale, expertise and regional reach to help turn this investment into real outcomes for local people. We look forward to continuing our work with Homes England, Government and local partners to accelerate delivery, unlock opportunity and ensure the benefits of this investment are felt across the region for years to come.”
