Platform Housing Group is developing the homes which will be a mix of one bedroom apartments alongside  two, three and four bedroom homes.

The landlord, which manages almost 50,000 homes across the Midlands, purchased the land at Coventry Road in 2021 and following a successful planning application, has appointed experienced developer Lovell Partnerships to bring the site to fruition.

In total, 28 of the homes will be available for affordable rent whilst the other 28 will be offered to people through shared ownership, offering vital housing to the rural community.

Kate Ellison, Platform’s Director of Land, Partnerships and New Business said,

“We are delighted to get work started at Coventry Road and look forward to seeing progress in the coming months alongside other key developments in the Coventry area. Partnerships like the one we have with Lovell, which extends across various projects we currently have on site, will be key to making sure we can keep building homes and provide the housing options that are so important to solving the housing crisis. Last year we were able to start work on nearly 1600 homes and this site is part of our ambition to achieve the same in the next 12 months.”

Simon Wingate, partnership director at Lovell Partnerships, said, “We have a proven track record of working collaboratively with Platform and this next site will be another opportunity to showcase how such partnerships are key to unlocking affordable homes across the region.”

It is hoped that homes will be ready in the late summer of 2025.
