We are NHBC.
Built. Better.

NHBC has been at the heart of home building since 1936. We are the UK’s leading independent provider of warranty and insurance cover for newly-built homes and the largest independent Registered Building Control Approver.

Raising standards. Right first time.
Our core purpose is to raise standards in home building. Developers look to us to inspect, advise and train to support construction excellence at every stage of the project lifecycle, helping them to get it right first time and to provide the best possible experience to those who will occupy the homes.

As a direct insurer, we have a vested interest in the prevention of defects and successful, long-term asset protection, with dedicated insurance products to safeguard investments and revenue streams.

Working in partnership. From the start.
Collaboration is at the heart of all we do. We work with our Housing Association clients from the very start of new-build projects helping them manage development risk. Whether that’s advising on the remediation of land for development, reviewing designs, inspecting construction performance, assessing build quality or identifying improvements. Our work means risks are identified up front through quality assurance and tenants and asset owners are then protected through our Buildmark Choice policy.

So, whether you are developing homes for sale or contracting a third party to build homes for you to rent, NHBC is here as a partner to help from the very beginning to post-handover.
