Jaime Neale, Supported Housing Manager for Raven Housing Trust, has been chosen for the shortlist in the Housing Heroes awards, set up to champion the success of teams and individuals within the housing sector.

Jaime, who has worked with Raven Housing Trust for over 15 years, was shortlisted for her work with residents, going above and beyond in everything she does, from ensuring the best care for residents to empowering her team, inspiring everyone with her can-do attitude, kindness, and generosity.

A trained chef, Jaime has seen first-hand the vital support that housing providers give, after previously living in a homeless hostel with her 10-year-old daughter.

Her experience there, seeing gaps in services to vulnerable customers, inspired a career change to housing support in the hope that she could provide quality care to those in need.

She commented on the award shortlist: “It’s lovely to hear that I’ve been shortlisted for the Housing Heroes awards. I love my job and supporting people in all the ways they need, so to know that colleagues think I’m inspirational enough to enter me for an award like this is wonderful.”

Jaime joined Raven Housing Trust as a temporary cleaning supervisor, before becoming a Temporary Accommodation Officer and working through various roles to her current position, where she manages both sheltered accommodation for elderly residents and temporary accommodation for homeless households.

Sue Young, Raven Housing Trust’s Head of Housing Services, added: “Jaime has become a trusted and inspirational colleague to her team members, who describe her as ‘amazing’. She has consistently encouraged colleagues to pull together and lead on many day-to-day activities, giving them the opportunity to develop new skills and gain an insight into the lives and support needs of our different customers, from elderly residents to teenage single parents.

“Jaime is an empowering and inspirational manager and colleague, and we have everything crossed that she’ll win this prestigious housing award. But whatever happens, we know we’re lucky to have her looking after our residents and those we support.”
