Keeping homes warm for more than 100 years
Ideal Heating’s roots can be traced back as far as 1906, when the company was founded in Hull as The National Radiator Company.
In the 1920s, the company took boilers from basements and into kitchens with its pioneering Cookanheat – a freestanding stove that combined an open fire, central heating boiler, cooking oven and hot cupboard all in one unit.
Fast forward to 1934, and the company changed its name to Ideal Boilers & Radiator Co.
Over the next six decades, Ideal established itself as a market leader with award-winning models which remained synonymous with quality, reliability and engineering excellence.
In 1991, Ideal launched the UK’s first cast iron combi boiler – the Classic Combi 80.
A major manufacturing milestone was reached in 2005, when Ideal’s one millionth boiler rolled off the production line.
Since then, Ideal has launched its hugely successful Logic range of boilers, which have become a staple in the UK heating market.
Today, the business is Ideal Heating, reflecting the drive towards alternative, low carbon heating solutions such as heat pumps.
Ideal became one of just six companies nationally to win two Queen’s Awards for Enterprise in 2019 – for innovation and international trade.
It reflects Ideal’s commitment to strive for excellence in everything it does – from manufacturing and training to customer support and pioneering the green technologies which will heat our homes for generations to come.
Throughout its 100-plus-year history, Ideal has remained true to its founding principles of quality, innovation and value – building on its rich heritage as it looks to the future.
Quite Mark: Logic Air
Market leader Ideal Heating’s new monobloc heat pump, Logic Air, has been officially named as one of the quietest heat pumps in the UK.
Launched to provide reliable, low carbon heating to UK homes, Logic Air has been awarded Quiet Mark certification – a global rating which rewards the quietest central heating products.
The certification is official recognition that Logic Air is best-in-class for its quiet performance and minimal background noise.
Andy Farquhar, Senior Product Manager (Heat Pumps) at Ideal Heating, said: “Achieving Quiet Mark certification formally recognises Logic Air as being one of the best products on the market when it comes to noise levels.
“When we were designing Logic Air, acoustic performance was something which was really important to us. We want customers to enjoy all the benefits of Logic Air without any of the annoyance which can be caused by a noisy product.
“This Quiet Mark award is a reassurance for customers that they’re investing in a quality heat pump which produces minimal noise levels.”
Quiet Mark is a global certification programme associated with the UK Noise Abatement Society.
Recognised as a seal of approval for an array of household and commercial products, Quiet Mark works with global specialist acoustic teams to test products in purpose-built laboratory conditions.
Quiet Mark certification is awarded to the top 10-20 per cent of the best-performing products within each category.
Logic Air has now become the latest Ideal Heating product to receive the certification, joining the company’s Logic Max Combi Boiler, Logic Max Heat Boiler and Logic Max System Boiler.
