Leading property services company, Ian Williams, is delighted to announce its sponsorship of local cricket club in its head office’s home town of Chipping Sodbury, starting with the renovation of the club’s pavilion.
Chipping Sodbury Cricket Club is a much-loved sports facility in the local area, priding itself on Cricket for All, supported by a lively social scene and the “best beer garden in Chipping Sodbury”! Formed in 1860, it is one of the largest cricket clubs in South Gloucestershire and the sole provider of cricket in the BS37 area. People of all ages, abilities and genders are welcomed to become involved on and off the field.

Ian Williams’ Chairperson, Andy Havard, comments: “We’ve enjoyed a long-term partnership with Chipping Sodbury Cricket Club, and many of the local Ian Williams team have enjoyed using the club throughout the years. Their ethos of ‘we all wear the same shirt, we are one club’ as well as their community approach and the support for youth and ladies cricket, chimes with our own values of community and inclusivity.
“We were delighted, therefore, to offer our services to renovate the pavilion to kick start our sponsorship of the club. It’s a central resource for the club, both during the matches and afterwards as a social centre. The works included window repairs, mould treatment, fire door replacement and a full repaint inside and out, and we must say a thank you to our supply chain partners: Crown Paints for supplying all the paint, and Solidcor for providing the fire door.
“The Ian Williams pavilion is now looking pristine, with new signage too, just in time for the new season, and we hope that the team and local community benefit from the renovations.”
Jamie Wakefield, Chair of Chipping Sodbury Cricket Club, adds: “On behalf of everyone at Chipping Sodbury Cricket Club, I would like to extend our sincere thanks to Ian Williams and in particular Andy Harvard and Zane Poyner for their continued multi-year sponsorship of our club.
“As a volunteer-led community sports club, support from businesses like Ian Williams is vital. Community clubs like ours are at the heart of local life, bringing people together, promoting health and wellbeing, providing opportunities for young people and adults alike to participate in sport.
“The generous support we receive from our sponsors, like Ian Williams, provide much more than just financial assistance. It enables us to invest in our club facilities, grounds and playing equipment, coaching and playing environment, helping to ensure that cricket remains accessible and is reachable to everyone, of all ages, across our community. This commitment from Ian Williams and others will have a long lasting impact on our club and members, helping us continue to develop on and off the field.
“We are incredibly grateful to Andy and Zane, and everyone at Ian Williams for their trust and faith in our club, our community and supporting grass root sport”.
