A new social housing development in Bolton has been highlighted as one of the UK’s best after being nominated for national award.
The 94 new homes at Inverbeg Drive, Breightmet, have been developed by Be One Homes and provide a mix of one to four-bedroom homes for social rent, affordable rent and Rent to Buy.
The timber-frame homes are fully electric with heating provided by air source heat pumps, making them more sustainable than traditionally built properties.
Supported by more than £5.8m in Homes England Grant Funding, the homes have been built by Westchurch Homes, Be One Homes’ development partner for the project, and are now fully occupied.

The scheme has been shortlisted by Premier Guarantee – a national provider of structural warranty and building control services – in the Best Social Housing Development of more than 51 homes in its national awards scheme.
It is the latest in a programme of new affordable housing schemes being developed in the region by Be One Homes to help more people find a safe, affordable place to live.
Be One Homes has ambitions to develop 250 new homes per year over the next few years, both through its own new-build developments and by acquiring new homes from private housebuilders under section 106 agreements.
It is currently on site with a further 200 plus homes across developments in Bolton and the surrounding boroughs.
